Most pipelines end with another export. A excel file emailed to whoever needs the data for the dashboard, cut off from its source the moment it's sent. So the dashboard quietly drifts out of date, and no one's quite sure if the number on the screen still matches the newly send excel file. Change this with Publish. Your tables stay in the datahub, and your reporting tools read them live, straight from the source.
What it does
The datahub organizes your tables into folders , raw data, invoices, budgets, public outputs, and each folder has its own owner and its own access rules. Publish opens a folder so your reporting tools can connect to it directly and pull the numbers themselves, always live.
That means whoever builds the dashboard can shape the data to fit what they're reporting without waiting on you to prepare every version by hand. A tool connected to the budgets folder can read what's in that folder, and nothing else. You decide who gets into which folder, and what's allowed in it.
How publishing works
- Organize — group your tables into folders by purpose: raw, invoices, budgets, public outputs.
- Set access — give each folder an owner and decide who's allowed in, so every folder shows only what it should, to only the people it should.
- Open it up — make the folder available for your reporting tools to connect to.
- Report live — Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Metabase pull straight from the folder and always show the current, governed numbers — never last week's export.
This is where everything you've built pays off. The number on the dashboard can be traced all the way back through every step — reported from Analyse, cleaned in Clean, brought in by Extract. It came in as a governed number and it stays one, right up to the screen. The data leaves the building without ever leaving the governance.
