On the third of the month, Maria starts the same routine. She logs in and exports a CSV from the accounting system. She opens the invoices that came in by email and retypes the numbers by hand. A few other figures she pulls directly from another tool. An hour gone, and she hasn't started the real work yet.
Then the cleaning. She reshapes the data, fixes the dates that imported as text again, and rolls the new month onto the last. Her Power Query flow was meant to handle this, but someone renamed a column upstream and now half of it is throwing errors. Copilot gives her something confident and wrong, so she fixes it herself, like always.
When the file is finally done, she sends a link. By Friday, finance has copied her numbers into their own sheet and ops pasted an older version into a deck. A week later there are four versions of her work in circulation, and she can't tell which one the wrong number came from.
After
On the third of the month, Maria opens Arkx. The connections have already pulled the data straight from the accounting system and her other tools, so there's nothing to export.
For the invoices that landed in her inbox, she lets the AI agents read the numbers out and gives them a quick check. The hour of exporting and retyping is gone.
Her Clean flow has already run on the new data. When the column changed upstream, it didn't fail silently, it showed her the one step affected, and she fixed that.
She does her analysis in a spreadsheet with the same formulas she's always used, except now it sits on live data straight from the hub, not a CSV from Tuesday.
When she's done, she doesn't send a link. The finished table lives in the Data Hub, and the other teams read straight from it. There's nothing to copy, so there's nothing to drift. And when the other teams needs an update, she just runs the pipeline.
